What This Photo Can’t Tell You…

A beautiful tree, isn’t it? Would you believe that the pool of water, that placid mirror that circles this mighty tree on three sides, is actually thick with raw sewage?

The smell is nearly unbearable. Imagine the noxious odor of rotting fruit. Picture your lungs expanding. Feel that thick, putrid fog seep into your body.

Try to exhale. You won’t be able to. You can’t escape that stench.

This tree can’t escape its fate.

We have let beauty rot.

That is sad. What happened? Did something break to cause that flood of sewage?

Hope you didn't have to stay long to take in the stench.

That's sad.

Um... yeesh! I totally felt my throat constrict with putrid fog. Now, I must recite a cleansing passage. Thank you very much.

Heh.

Seriously though, what a shame. I truly love nature and all its beauty. It's sad to think that you may have captured this tree's final glory.

Erina, this is unfortunate! The things that should be important to us no longer are.

Nay, the rotting is beautiful.

Lets build a culvert and divert the sewage away from the tree.

Huh, that is really interesting of a irony. The picture is really beautiful, I just love trees next to water.

Beautiful post, Erina.

I love trees...I have an affinity with them! At least, I think I do!:)

How terrible that such a beautiful tree has to be surrounded by raw sewage!? It happens a lot here as well...sux totally!

Nice tidbit!

Rolando, the water wasn’t always this way. The tree sits inside a creek. The creek has sewage leaking into it from some unknown location. However, it wasn’t always like that. The smaller plants in the area already look awful.

Thanks for finding that Cinci website. I will look into it.

Heather, it is terribly sad.

Stacy, I hope you have recovered from the fog now. I’m sorry you felt so ill. If you have a cleaning passage for the tree, please share. The tree doesn’t care much for that fog either.

It is sad to think this tree may never be so beautiful again. The truck is rotting. I’m not sure if it can be saved at this point.

Lisa C, humans do seem to neglect many of the things we value. I have spoken to some individuals that don’t see the latest honey bee crisis to be bothersome. Many people just don’t seem to understand that nature sustains all of us.

Magari, while death can be seen as beautiful, I don’t think this tree would agree. It is in pretty bad shape. It isn’t experiencing a natural death. Humans are killing it.

Speedcat Hollydale, I wish we could. There must be something. I’m going to check in on the tree again tomorrow. I’ll see what is going on.

Christina, I agree.

Joanne, it is a beautiful tree. However, its trunk is already rotting through.

And, trees on water are beautiful. Where I live, we have many weeping willows. Gorgeous.

Keeyit, it is sad.

Jesse, I’m glad you are so connected to nature. I think it says a lot about a person. With so many materialistic, man-made things in this world, it is nice to know that some people still value the earth.

NeoAuteur, thank you. Please, come back and see all of us again.
